  • The starting point for forecasting weather is monitoring and collecting data. However, traditional methods focus on the simple display of real-time data and usually only at a few locations.
  • Often, the information displayed lacks context, and it is difficult for decision makers to use when managing environmental quality. Mechanical sensors have limitations that are immobile, limited area of coverage, difficult to create weather pattern even for small area of 50 acres of land, remote maintenance is biggest challenge that impacts routine calibration thereby resulting incorrect data and dependence on OEM.
  • Factually, due to low maintenance and less life of sensors, weather stations are generally repurchased every 5 years by government departments.

Meteorological Measurement

AUM_AWS measures meteorological factors like temperature, humidity, wind parameters (speed , direction, pressure, velocity), precipitation that show how pollutants are transferred from source to recipient.

Flood Monitoring

AUM_AWS will co-relate Dams water levels, Ocean Tides, and Waves height, river water levels and rainfall. This will assist to estimate water logging, flooding and alert the citizen well in advance of upcoming adversity if any. The system will also support for Flood Area Inundation Mapping. At high altitudes avalanche monitoring will also be done. This all correlation will assist to protect citizen and prevent collateral damages.

Sensing Area coverage

Area covered by AUM_AWS is 10mm to 5 Km in radius. The unit can be rotated 3600. Data of air can be collected vertically as well as horizontally at distance of every 100mm to 5km as required. The laser beam travels to the targeted area / source of pollutants. With few nos. of installation complete city can be monitored for pollutants and weather conditions.

  • A single installation of AUM_Weather on tower can cover monitor weather for 78.5 sq. km of area.
  • The area of coverage is from 100m to 5000m.
  • A complete Rural belt spread across 1000s of acers can be covered.
  • The important crops, apart from paddy, are ragi, maize, jowar, bajra and pulses, cash crops like coconut, cashew-nut, arecanut, mango, jackfruit, banana, pineapple can be largely benefitted by tower to tower monitoring.
  • This will further assist government to determine wet and dry famine in a given area hectare to hectare.
